LMKFR is a free, open-source, local-first analyzer of your Instagram data export. It reads your official files entirely in your browser and maps the people behind the numbers - who you really talk to, who is drifting, what your content quietly says. Eleven real analysis views: relationships, accounts, messages, content, activity and more. Nothing ever leaves your device. Independent, and not affiliated with Instagram or Meta.
For anyone who wants to know who's actually there - creators, curious accounts, and people who keep their data on their own device.
Drop your Instagram data export below - decoding happens right here in your browser. Import only, no login, no account.
The LMKFR mark is a figure drawn from your own network - not a stock icon. It is the same shape on this page, in the app, in the tab and in every share: one identity, honestly the same everywhere.
From relationships to messages, content to privacy signals - LMKFR reads the real files Instagram gives you and surfaces patterns you can act on. All computed on-device from your own data.
Not following back, fans, mutuals, close friends and more - see who is holding on and who let go.
Conversation intelligence built from your DMs, groups and channels.
Posts, reels, stories and DM media - all opened from your local archive.
Engagement tiers, quiet accounts and where your connections come from - your whole network, counted locally.
Your rhythm, your golden hour, and what changed between two exports.
Login history, ad interests, advertisers, and a museum of your archive.
Most people get these numbers two ways: from Instagram's own export, or from an online tool. Here's how LMKFR compares - honestly.
| Capability | Instagram's export (your device) | Typical online tools | LMKFR |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where everything runs | Your device (raw files) | Their servers | Your device, in your browser |
| Account or password | Your Instagram login | Often required | None |
| Sends your archive to a server | No - it's a download | Usually yes | Never - stays on your device |
| Media stored after analysis | Stays on your device | Often kept on their servers | Never leaves your device |
| Reads your DMs & content | Raw files, unanalyzed | Varies, often blocked | Yes, privately |
| Relationship insights | No - you get files | Often a paid extra | Yes - 11 local views |
| Price | Free (Meta's own) | Often a subscription | $0 - free & open source |
| Code you can verify | - | Closed source | Open (AGPL) + live proof |
The middle column describes how online Instagram-data and analytics services generally present themselves; their specifics vary. We compare categories, not companies - and every LMKFR claim here is verifiable: live zero-network proof, open-source code, and import-only local analysis.

Just your official Instagram export - the JSON or HTML file Meta already lets you download. LMKFR reads it in your browser on your device and maps the people behind the numbers. Free, open-source, and entirely on-device.
No login, no password, no connection to your Instagram account. You do everything from Instagram's official export.
Request your data from Instagram (Settings → Accounts Center → Your information and permissions → Export your information). Set the date range to All time and format to JSON for the most complete picture.
Drop the ZIP on this page. Everything is parsed in your browser — your photos, videos and text stay on your device. No account needed.
Open your dashboard to explore relationships, messages, content and privacy signals — instantly, privately, and honestly.
We don't show testimonials we can't back up. What we can show you is the code, the end-to-end proof and the exact files - verifiable before you decide.
Five official steps, then it's all on your device.
Profile → Menu → Settings and activity → Accounts Center → Your information and permissions → Export your information.
Search tip — the menu has a search field, type export to jump straight thereChoose Create export, select your profile, then Export to device — the simplest option (not “Export to external service”).
Set the date range to All time for the most complete picture, and the format to JSON (recommended) or HTML — see the honest comparison beside this.
Click Start export. Instagram builds the ZIP and emails you the moment it’s ready — usually within a few hours, sometimes a day or two.
The email links back to the official page (or Available downloads in the same menu). Download within 4 days — Instagram may ask you to sign in again first.
HTML archives work here: we convert them automatically and analyze everything Instagram put into the files. But Instagram omits data from HTML exports that JSON still includes - message details, ad history, relationship signals - and no converter can rebuild what was never in the file. For the complete picture, choose JSON when you re-download.
| Capability | JSON export | HTML export |
|---|---|---|
| Direct message details | Included | Omitted by Instagram |
| Ad history & ad interests | Included | Omitted by Instagram |
| Relationship signals (followers, following) | Included | Omitted by Instagram |
| Posts, stories & reels | Full records | Present, with gaps |
| Media files (photos & videos) | Included | Included |
| How LMKFR reads it | Native, complete | Converted automatically - gaps stay gaps |
Rows follow what Instagram itself documents as differing between the two outputs. When you re-download, pick JSON.
